Background:
 Mathew Banji Oyun is a Professor of Forestry with over one decade of post Ph.D. teaching and research experience in Silviculture, Agroforestry, Ecology and Forest Biology. Professor Mathew Banji Oyun has published extensively in these areas of teaching and research in high ranking peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He has won several national and international research grants notably African Academy of Sciences (AAS); International Foundation for Science (IFS); African Research Network (AFORNET); African Network for Agroforestry Education (ANAFE) and two term grantee of the African Caribbean and Pacific Group of State (ACP); European Union (EU) Edulink Project. Between 2013 and 2016, Professor Oyun coordinated ACP – EU project on Integrated Soil Fertility Management (Capacity4Food Project) in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra- Leone, Cameroon and The Gambia which led to creation of Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM) in each of the participating West African Universities including FUTA, Nigeria. Professor Oyun is versed in consulting in Tree Plantation Establishment, Environmental Impact Assessment, Ecological Studies and Forest Assessment.
